CASA TORRE

a platform by ESAS for dialogue, thought and artistic practice in Guadalajara, Mex

Since opening in 2024, Casa Torre has presented exhibitions, Focus Group Discussions, artist-led initiatives, and research-based activities, with new projects and public programs currently in development.

Casa Torre was conceived by Inés Somellera in 2024 as a space for artistic experimentation and curatorial / contemporary art practices in Guadalajara, Mexico. The interest is an ongoing dialogue between Mexico and Indonesia that can create opportunities for exchange across disciplines, geographies, and artistic communities. The space is guided by a curatorial approach attentive to the process and the conversation.

The curatorial team is formed by Sandra Sánchez and Citlalli Rodríguez, who work alongside the founder in shaping the program and its connections with local and international networks.

Casa Torre is also home to La Alberca, a developing platform dedicated to the practice, thought, and curatorship of Live Arts. Through reading groups, research initiatives, public programs, and artistic gatherings, La Alberca explores collaborative artistic and economic methodologies from an ecosystemic perspective, fostering dialogue between Guadalajara, Jakarta, Mexico City and other contexts.
