ESAS

ABOUT ESAS

“ESAS is a haven where diverse cultures and disciplines converge to reclaim wisdom through art, shaping a just economy and a good society.

We believe that art and creativity are essential for addressing today’s complex challenges.”

 Felia Salim, Co-founder of ESAS

ESAS is driven by a vision to enrich the human experience by fostering cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary exchanges. Collaboration is at the core of ESAS’s mission, and the organization partners with individuals and entities within Indonesia and worldwide to achieve its goals. ESAS operates as a not-for-profit organization, focusing firmly on promoting collaboration, innovation, and enrichment rather than commercial gains.

ESAS recognizes the diversity of observations, thoughts, and experiences across various aspects of life, from social realities to culture, arts, economy, ecology, and technology. This recognition has led to the creation of three interconnected pathways: Beyond Arts, Good Society, and Just Economy, all bound by the transformative power of art. Through these pathways, ESAS seeks to explore the cutting-edge arts, cultivate ethical intelligence in human progress, and promote environmentally sound, socially just, and economically viable paradigms.

Reclaiming wisdom is a central theme. ESAS strives to revive the inherent wisdom in traditional communities that embody collaboration, creativity, and resilience – principles vital for building a just and sustainable world.

Founded by Felia Salim, a finance expert with decades of experience, and Ines Somellera, an artist at the intersection of theater, dance, and performance art, ESAS is more than just a creative arts hub; it’s a tranquil space where diverse cultures and disciplines converge to foster innovation and fresh initiatives.

Over its eight years of existence, ESAS has established itself as a reputable creative arts hub in Jakarta, offering various activities spanning performing arts, literature, visual arts, poetry readings, film screenings, and culinary events.

In the realm of arts and culture, Ines has introduced Indonesian audiences to the rich tapestry of Latin American art and culture, offering a unique perspective seldom seen in this part of the world. Simultaneously, Felia has pioneered programs that bridge the gap between the corporate, NGO, and government sectors and the arts and culture community, demonstrating that creativity is essential for addressing today’s complex challenges. This fusion of diverse backgrounds has created a vibrant ESAS community, uniting individuals from various fields who may not typically interact.

We invite you to join us on this incredible odyssey, where diverse voices converge, ideas flourish, and wisdom is reclaimed. Together, we can shape a more just, harmonious, and sustainable world. Connect with ESAS and be part of our mission to explore the boundaries of arts, nurture ethical intelligence, and pioneer environmentally sound, socially just, and economically viable paradigms.
