A works in progress: MALINCHE 1.0

The Watermill Center, founded by theater director Robert Wilson, hosted ESAS’s stage one workshop at the intersection of arts and history. This workshop focused on Mexico’s history and La Malinche, the Indigenous translator in 1519. It united academics, experts, and theater makers, exploring Malinche’s pivotal role and ESAS’s evolving work.

Transfusion Performance

In “Transfusion,” Ines Somellera merges architecture, nature, and sound in a house. It addresses COVID-era challenges and invites introspection at the “False Positives” exhibition in Guadalajara, Mexico. This immersive art reflects life’s cycles and humanity’s essence.

Xalisco, A Place

Installation performance

Xalisco, a non-linear performance exploring memory and dreams, debuted in Jakarta (2017) and Bangkok (2019) before its full-length presentation at Mexico’s Festival Internacional Cervantino (2019). Directed by Ines Somellera, it merges magic realism with sound, light, and poetry.

ESAS & Indonesian National Book Community in FIL

In 2019, ESAS and the Indonesian National Book Committee attended the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL), the world’s second-largest. ESAS collaborated with Mexican publisher Impronta, hosting a delegation meeting at Impronta Casa Editora, Calle Penitenciaria 414, Guadalajara, Jalisco.

Dance Performance

'Hari Ini' by Hartati in Collaboration with Ines Somellera

‘Hari Ini’ is a vibrant dance theater piece by Hartati and Ines Somellera, part of Yayasan Kelola’s ‘Empowering Women Artists.’ Inspired by Sumatra’s martial arts and yoga, it’s directed by Ines Somellera for ESAS, featuring music by Marc Apart and costumes by Carlos Soto.

K/Lab is a laboratory of culinary experiences that focuses on the dialogue between cultures through ingredients sourced from local farmers, the rediscovery of the value of heritage and, the knowledge of healthy benefits of biodiverse produce.
